I am absolutely thrilled with my results; my surgery was a complete success.
– Real Patient
Recent procedural breakthroughs in rhytidectomy, or facelift surgery provide improved, more natural results with less scarring. A face lift using the short scar technique, also known as a mini-facelift, will not leave patients with a stretched or “operated on” look. You’ll appear more youthful and well-rested, but your face will retain every subtle nuance of personality that loved ones recognize as uniquely you.
A short scar facelift elevates the skin and deeper tissues of the face. Sagging cheeks are raised, jowls are removed, the jaw line is strengthened and wrinkles are greatly reduced. Rhytidectomy also softens nasolabial folds (the creases that run from each corner of the nose to a corner of the mouth) and marionette lines (those creases that form at the corners of the mouth).
After a mini face lift, sharper features and softer wrinkles will make you appear younger. Friends are likely to describe you as looking “like you,” but now at your most attractive and energized.
Rhytidectomy does not treat the upper portion of the face. Droopy eyelids, sunken eyebrows, crow’s feet, or forehead wrinkles may require that your face lift be performed in conjunction with a second procedure. Many patients in the New Orleans area combine their short scar facelift with eyelid surgery, brow lift, chin augmentation, lip augmentation or facial fat grafting.

During your facelift consultation at our Mandeville, Louisiana clinic, you can talk with Dr. Cooper about the changes you hope to achieve, and she will work with you to determine which approaches can be taken to accomplish your unique cosmetic goals. Dr. Cooper likes to schedule a whole hour to meet with each new patient. This provides a friendly, unhurried atmosphere for her to provide you with all the information you will need to make educated decisions about facelift surgery.
Dr. Cooper will ask you about the specific cosmetic changes you desire and cover the risks and benefits associated with each of your options. With this information you and Dr. Cooper will be able to determine which exact procedural strategies will best meet your expectations.
Two weeks prior to your face lift you will meet with Dr. Cooper again to discuss all pre-operative and post-operative instructions, and to confirm the procedural plans previously determined.
The face lift itself is performed in an outpatient facility, so you may leave shortly after your procedure. A family member or friend will need to drive you home and provide assistance during the first 24 to 48 hours that follow your face lift. You and your caregiver will both be provided with Dr. Cooper’s cell phone number for any concerns or questions.
